Who we are

Dr. Kevin Cowell and Davis Benz co-invented the Vector Pulley Protection Splint (Vector PPS) to solve critical gaps in pulley injury rehabilitation for climbers.

Dr. Cowell, a physical therapist specializing in rock climbing injuries, owner of The Climb Clinic, and Orthopedic Certified Specialist, developed the concept after years of seeing climbers struggle with inaccessible, poorly designed splints that failed to meet real climbing demands. His goal was to create a functional, durable, and clinically sound solution accessible to every climber.

Davis Benz, a licensed professional engineer with extensive medical device R&D experience, has developed technologies including blood component centrifuges, robotic ultrasound systems, and novel IV catheters, and holds multiple medical device patents. After suffering a full A2 pulley tear and experiencing long-term mobility loss due to inadequate rehab, he was driven to engineer a more precise and effective solution.

Together, their combined clinical expertise, engineering innovation, and firsthand climbing experience led to the creation of the Vector PPS.
